At F's kindergarten they have a really lovely tradition. Every Friday is Share Day and in the afternoon all the children bring in something to share with their classmates. Often the children bring food (and a bit too much tooth-rot for my liking!) but they can also choose to bring a favourite book or toy to share with their classmates.
I really like this, so I'm going to start doing it too. Every Friday (or thereabouts, starting late as usual!) I'm going to share something that I've found, something I like or something that's inspired me.
Sadly I can't reach through the internet and offer round biscuits but this is my online equivalent.

To start off I'd like to tell you about www.lendwithcare.org. It's a really brilliant Microfinance initiative from CARE International UK, a wonderful poverty focused global charity. Basically it enables members to make small personal loans so people in developing countries. Last week we lent money to Ginaflor
Vidal in the Philippines to enable her to extend the product range of her market stall. She's a young mother
like me and it's a privilege to be able to help her improve her life.
When her loan is repaid we will lend the money again. It's a fantastic
model and I'm really delighted to be getting involved.
We don't have a lot of money but I think that most of us can probably find a bit of cash to free up and this way, your money can be 'recycled' and over time help a lot of different people. We are so fortunate in the West, so why not share some of what you have?
An American charity with the same aims is Kiva.
